Roma Strategy

Political and legal measures in Austria to implement the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies up to 2020.

Under Point 27 of the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies up to 2020, the Member States are invited to appoint a national Contact Point to ensure effective monitoring during implementation of the national concepts for integration of the Roma populations and to promote the exchange of best practices.

Under Point 28 of the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies up to 2020, the Member States are also invited to encourage the active involvement – including at regional and local level – of the entire Roma civil society and all other stakeholders in Roma integration strategies.

The national Contact Point in Austria has been set up in the Federal Chancellery.

Roma dialogue platform in Austria

A dialogue platform that includes representatives of public authorities, civil society organizations and experts from science and research has been responsible for national monitoring in Austria since it was established in 2012.
